Murder trial moved to May

PHILIPSBURG – The Court in First Instance moved the trial against Todrick Kahim F. on Wednesday afternoon to May 2. The 43-year old former VKS-officer appeared in court for a pro forma hearing. He has been charged with the murder of Derrick Wilson on November 18, 2017.

The court granted the prosecution’s request to hear four witnesses by the Judge of Instruction, but it denied attorney Zylena Bary’s request to terminate or suspend her client’s pre-trial detention.

On November 18, the defendant got into an argument with Wilson at a Chinese store on Genip Road. Wilson was the first one to stab F. with a sharp object but the latter retaliated and eventually stabbed Wilson to death.
