War of words

Minister Silveria Jacobs says that remarks made by Milo Pinckney, managing director of the American University of Integrated Sciences are reprehensible and unacceptable. Pinckney calls the minister a loose cannon.

For sure, such a war of words is uncalled for when parties could simply get together to find a way out of whatever the hang up may be.

It seems that the relationship between the minister and the university’s leadership has soured to a point where solutions are no longer possible, unless egos are set aside.

A possible departure of the university would kill a $12 million investment in a campus in Indigo Bay and it would leave the building the school leases in Cole Bay unoccupied. Sixty students and twenty faculty would also pack up and go.

All this seems reason enough to bury the hatchet and to work towards a solution.
