SMMC submits request for building permit for new hospital

Philipsburg — The process to the realization of the new St Maarten General Hospital is another step closer to reality as the SMMC submitted its application with supporting documentation for the building permit.

Minister Giterson and acting department head of permits department Charlon Pompier were on hand to receive three boxes of supporting documentation for the new hospital from the Director Kees Klarenbeek and Erica van der Horst. Minister of VSA, Emil Lee and INSO representative, Enrico Raimondi, were also present for the handing over.

Minister Lee commented, “I was impressed by the sheer volume of documentation that is being submitted. It really does demonstrate how much work has gone into the designing of the new general hospital with revised specifications based on the post Irma reality.”
