ENNIA pays out insurance claims hurricane Irma

Philipsburg — ENNIA recently paid out the first insurance claims in connection with hurricane Irma through its St. Maarten branch. The insurance company’s chief executive officer, Ralph Palm, confirmed that ENNIA strives to resolve all claims as soon as possible. ENNIA is also willing to advance a portion of the loss payment to eligible clients in order to speed up recovery from the catastrophe.

According to Palm, a rapid recovery is primarily in the interest of the client, but will also benefit the country as a whole. Currently, a high number of insurance claims have already been filed. “We expect many more claims to be filed. There are many people that have been unable to file a claim due to the enormous impact Irma has had on the island”. Based on the insurance policies, a client must file a claim as soon as possible.

Despite the massive destruction Irma has left in its wake, Palm is confident that ENNIA is able to meet its financial obligations. “ENNIA has more than adequate coverage through its reinsurance contracts with large international reinsurers. The reinsured amount covers the entire amount of the projected insured damage suffered by our policy holders”.

Over the next few weeks, ENNIA will invest additional resources to better assist their policy holders in St. Maarten. Policy holders that have not yet filed their insurance claims are urged to do so as soon as possible. The insurance company notes that policy holders can file a claim online by visiting their website (www.ennia.com) and completing the claims form. Policy holders can also file a claim in person at the offices at W.J.A. Nisbeth Road 97 on weekdays between 8 am and 4.30 pm or by calling +1 (721) 543 2232. Claims can also be filed through the ENNIA headquarters located at J.B. Gorsiraweg 6 in Curaçao.
