Good for the country

The coalition of National Alliance, United St. Maarten Party and Democratic Party has won the elections, even though opposition party UP captured the most votes – but not by a large margin.

The election result is good for the country because it guarantees that the incumbent government will be able to continue the work it started nine months ago.

The elections also sent some ship jumpers home which many will consider a just punishment for throwing the country into disarray.
Whatever anybody may think of this result, the voters have spoken. Now it is up to the new team to live up to their expectations.
