Philipsburg, January 18, 2019 –According to internal policy and international EASA standards both Air France and KLM were obliged to perform the Codeshare renewal audit at Winair. This audit must be done Bi-annually. With an audit team of 6 auditors the audit was performed according to the ICAO standards and all operational areas, security and the functioning of the Safety Management System were audited from January 14th– 18th 2019.

Although a joint audit it seems logical Air France and KLM have to perform the audits under their own responsibility to ensure a safe and compliant operation for their codeshare passengers. The results of Winair have significantly improved since the audits in 2014, 2016 and 2017. “The audit team was impressed with the way Winair has bounced back, willing to improve on all areas after the difficult year. We have seen that the continuous improvement is on track and although there were minor non-conformities raised, we are convinced Winair will succeed with their professional staff to ensure good follow up and  closing of findings. For the audit team it is evident Winair transports their codeshare passengers safely to their final destinations and we look forward at continuing our codeshare operation with full Air France and KLM support.” Stated Michiel van Hamersveld, Audit manager of Air France / KLM.

“We can be proud of Winair, to partner with several of the world’s premium carriers. Achieving the standards and requirements for the continuance of our Air France and KLM codeshare clearly demonstrates the professionalism and commitment of the entire Winair team.” stated Michael Cleaver, president and CEO of Winair, “I would be remiss if I didn’t thank all employees, managers and our Supervisory Board of Directors for their assistance in achieving these results.”
