Another cyber attack: government building closed down

PHILIPSBURG – The government organization has been hit by another cyber-attack, Prime Minister Leona Marlin-Romeo said on Wednesday. The attack took place on Monday.

As a result of the attack, the complete ICT-system in the government building shut down. On Wednesday, the building was closed down. Government services dealing with the public were not operational.

“All departments that render services to the public were closed on Monday and they will remain closed until further notice,” the Prime Minister said, adding that an assessment of the situation is underway.

Four coolers in the building broke down and that made the building’s interior very hot. Marlin-Romeo said that every effort is being made to repair the coolers as soon as possible to create a better working environment for civil servants.
