Caravanserai home owners battle with Alegria over power supply

PHILIPSBURG – The Alegria Resort is once more involved in a court case; this time with the Caravanserai Home Owners Association that demanded on Wednesday in summary proceedings that Alegria provides water and electricity to the so-called A-Building on the grounds of the resort. Alegria’s attorney Charles Rutte told the court that, due to damages caused by Hurricane Irma, it is unsafe to connect the building to the electricity grid. Willem Nelissen, the attorney for the home owners association, disagrees.
