Maho Job Fair deemed a success

Maho Resort Job Fair - 8 Mar 2019

CAY HILL — About seventy-five persons seeking employment visited the job fair which was hosted by the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Casino which was held at the Bel Air Community Center of Friday.

“We are looking for local talented people to strengthen our operation and because we have recently opened we will need all the help we can get,” said vice president of the Sonesta Maho Group of companies Johan Halvarsson. Although he pointed out that most of the departments in the resort they are looking to strengthen, they are in urgent need of culinary and food and beverage services which are persons to work in the restaurants and bars, he said.

“We also need public area attendants, rooms division, front office and housekeeping.” He explained that the employees who were there before are already at work and those who are at NIPA are also being interviewed for future possibilities.

Even though the resort is not completed as yet, it is being slated to be one of the best resorts in the entire Caribbean Region since the structure is not one that you will see anywhere else. Halvarsson said that they have a beautiful program rolled out and as a result all they need now is the talent to complete it and “place the golden ribbon around it.”

Although the resort is expected to be completed in a few months they will be welcoming the first Canadian guests on the Sunwing flight on March 14.
