Lee Roadside Grill closed

Lee Roadside Grill closed

Simpson Bay — On the Facebook page of Lee’s Roadside Grill the announcement has been posted that Lee’s Roadside Grill closed its doors at the Simpson Bay Lagoon location after 32 years of business.

The post reads “Lee and I would like to thank all our family, friends and customers, far and near, who gave us their support, help, kind words and love.”

We can only assume this is the wife of Lee who made this post on their Facebook page of the bar and restaurant.

“When one door closes another one opens and folks we will re-open, where? We don’t know yet. ” she continues. “We’ll let you know as soon as we know!”

Last week Friday, February 2nd, StMaartenNews.com made a special interview recording with Lee Halley about his impending eviction. The court had granted the local business man, fisherman and restauranteur a stay of execution for two weeks in order to find another location for the restaurant in cooperation with Government.

The interview recording, which was posted on Facebook as well, has so far garnered over 17,000 views. This shows the impact the impending closure has had on people and many have used the opportunity to vent their frustration with the local St. Maarten government, officials and politicians and to show their support for Lee Halley, his family and his staff on social media.
