Fun Miles supports SXM DOET

Fun Miles SXM DOET

PHILIPSBURG – Fun Miles is happy to support SXM DOET, the Kingdom’s biggest volunteer initiative, which is to take place on March 9 and 10, 2018. Numerous volunteers will work hard to complete projects that range from rebuilding a damaged playground or sports center, to organizing an activity for the elderly. Especially considering the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma last year, SXM DOET is more welcome and needed than ever. Fun Miles has selected four of SXM DOET’s projects and will provide each of them with a card pre-loaded with $ 450 in Fun Miles, to be spent on tools or materials at Kooyman.

This will be the fourth annual edition of SXM DOET. Funded by the Oranje Fonds in the Netherlands, and supported by many local companies like Fun Miles, SXM DOET mobilizes volunteers to make a positive difference in the community. With success. In 2017, SXM DOET welcomed over 1000 volunteers participating in 73 projects, helping organizations get projects done that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to, due to a lack of manpower or financial resources. This year, about 114 projects are lined up. Some are social projects (such as a fun day for the elderly or foster kids), some are hands-on projects (like painting, fixing fences and building playgrounds), and some are clean-ups. Along with NLdoet, BON DOET, CURA DOET, STATIA DOET and ARUBA DOET, this community-driven initiative is the largest of its kind in the entire Kingdom.
