Five cruise ships with over 10,000 passengers and crew in port on Christmas and Boxing Day

PORT ST. MAARTEN – Five cruise ships with over 10,000 cruise passengers and crew will be visiting the destination on Christmas and Boxing Day. The Marella Celebration and Independence of the Seas will be in port on Monday, December 25 and Grandeur of the Seas, Azamara Quest, and Jewel of the Seas will be in port on Tuesday, December 26.

On Christmas Day there will be over 5,000 cruise passengers and crew visiting the destination and a similar number on Boxing Day. Port St. Maarten Management is calling on all stakeholders and the community to give the cruise ship guests a warm Sint Maarten Christmas holiday welcome and smile. Secondly, with the long holiday weekend here, if your visiting one of the islands beaches, remember not to litter, we need to keep the island clean for everybody to enjoy.

Marella Celebration of Marella Cruises, formerly Thomson Cruises, and part of the TUI Group, the world’s leading travel company, will be in port on December 25. Marella Celebration, is one of the smaller ships in the Marella fleet. The vessel was refurbished in 2012.

Independence of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas, and Jewel of the Seas are part of the fleet of Royal Caribbean International which is part of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., a global cruise vacation company that owns Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Pullmantur, Azamara Club Cruises and CDF Croisières de France, as well as TUI Cruises through a 50 percent joint venture.

Together, these six brands operate a combined total of 43 ships with an additional six under construction contracts, and two on firm order. They operate diverse itineraries around the world that call on approximately 490 destinations on all seven continents.

Azamara Quest cruise ship is a vessel of Azamara Club Cruises, a boutique upmarket cruise line. The cruise line provides an up-market voyage experience for discerning travelers.

The line was founded in 2007 and then re-launched as Azamara Club Cruises in 2010, and is one of three brands owned and operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited.

Azamara Quest, will be in port on Boxing Day, December 26 in addition to Grandeur of the Seas and Jewel of the Seas.
