ICWI brings Christmas cheer to children in need
The Insurance Company of the West Indies (ICWI) Brings Some Christmas Cheer to Children in Need.
~ donates to St. Maarten Vocational Training School for Christmas lunch ~
When ICWI was asked to support the St. Maarten Vocational and Training School host their annual Christmas lunch the insurance company didn’t hesitate. Despite their busy schedule in dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, ICWI Branch Manager Mr. Dwight Cunningham, made time to visit the school and talk with the School Director Mrs. Rita Bourne and some of the teachers. Mrs. Rita Bourne expressed her concerns about the school and explained that the school faced many challenges but was very happy to receive help from the business community in these hard times.
The school reached out to ICWI requesting aid to help them with a Christmas lunch for the students on December 15th. Given the challenges that St. Maarten, and these students have had to face this past year, the school wanted to do something special this holiday season offering the students a chance to enjoy the spirit of Christmas with their fellow schoolmates. Many students suffered great losses due to the passing of Hurricane Irma, and the teachers really wanted to ensure that the spirit of Christmas was at the school.
The Music Teacher Mr. Donavan Lynch showed a lot of passion helping the students to develop their talents that will be showcased at the Christmas celebration. Ms. Vannessa Gustina, teacher of social studies has also been very busy coordinating the Christmas lunch ensuring that everything will run smoothly.
ICWI Branch Manager Mr. Dwight Cunningham, is happy to be a contributor to this school and looks forward to hopefully working more closely with the school on future projects that will make the education process for the students and teachers at the school even more positive.
ICWI wishes the staff and students of the St. Maarten Vocational Training School a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2018.
