Post-Irma cleanup invoices are a maze of incomprehensible claims

Invoices samplePHILIPSBURG – In the chaotic aftermath of Hurricane Irma, local contractors massively jumped on the bandwagon to make some good money by providing cleanup services to the government. A total of 68 companies – some of them not registered at the Chamber of Commerce – invoiced the government for more than 7.9 million guilders for the first phase of the cleanup program in the month of September alone.
