GEBE OVERCHARGES?
The Chairlady of Parliament revealed that the electricity company GEBE overcharges the customers . She further mentioned that this also documented in a report. But she is not at liberty to reveal its contents.
Besides her revelations. it is good to note that two of her MP coalition members are former high ranking GEBE officials and at no time were they summoned or questioned by parliament as to their experience in determining the fuel clause as calculated within the company.
For a long time, the public suspected GEBE erroneous electricity bills as a result of the fuel clause charges.
Nowadays, complaints about GEBE, via the media has become an everyday thing.
Even an activist organization has been established for the purpose of handling GEBE cases regarding alleged outrageous electricity bills.
Despite all the shouting about outrageous electricity bills, nobody takes the time to examine what they are charged for the consumption of electricity. They. looked at the fuel clause rate, and its stop there.
Here is now hard evidence that GEBE electricity consumers are overcharged.
Last July, GEBE announced that the fuel clause will be increased to 49 cents as per July 10th and, which was implemented.
Meaning, that as per mentioned date you will be charged 49 cents fuel clause going forward.
In as much as GEBE customers constantly complaining, they didn’t even notice or paid attention to their electricity billing dates in June up to July 9th.
The 49 cents fuel clause was charged to your electricity billing dates retroactively to a meter reading date in June.
For example June 9th to July 9th.
It is advisable that consumers revisit their electricity billing (June-July dates) wherein the 49 cents fuel clause is charged. Here you will find the overcharge by GEBE.
Madam Chair Lady, you might as well disclose your findings mentioned in the report read by you, because your standing carries weight.
