Yacht Club at Port De Plaisance reopening November 1st

COLE BAY — The Yacht Club at Port De Plaisance announced today that Jeff Boyd is re-opening the yacht club and will be receiving mega yachts again as of November 1st. The aim of the yacht club with its speedy re-opening is to drive business back into St. Maarten which will be key to the island’s economic recovery and will help provide jobs for those in need, especially in the marine sector, after the devastation caused by hurricane Irma.

Jeff Boyd writes in his press release: “I will like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the phone calls and emails during this difficult time. I am happy to report that our staff is doing well, staying strong and looking forward to the season. Our team has been working tirelessly to secure the marina and to implement repairs and upgrades to our facility in order for us to welcome all vessels and their guest this Winter 2017/2018 Season.

The press release continues to state that while we sustained considerable damage to our beautiful Country Club at Port De Plaisance – the Gym, Pool & Pool Bar – we have managed to make temporary repairs and opened our doors on September 25th. With permanent repairs well underway this facility will likewise be prepared to receive all captain and crew upon their arrival.

Provisioning stores, fueling stations, banks, restaurants and numerous other businesses are already also re-opened on the island. This truly is a resilient culture here in St Maarten and they simply will not give up and or be put down.

I am also pleased to announce that we will be ready to receive yachts as of November 1st, 2017.  Our aim is to have if not all, most reconstruction completed by December 1st, 2017.  We have begun our reservation process and will be accepting reservations as of today!!!

Jeff D. Boyd is the President and Managing Director for the Yacht Club at Port De Plaisance on behalf of Marine Management and Consulting NV.
