~ As artificial intelligence transformed Anguilla’s .AI domain and “super intelligence” sends registrations of Slovenia’s .SI soaring, Sint Maarten’s AnyKey.sx is positioning .SX for what could be the next great technology frontier: Space eXploration. ~
PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — Some revolutions arrive with a bang. Others begin quietly, almost unnoticed, until suddenly the world realizes that something fundamental has changed.
Over the past several years, an unusual transformation has been taking place in the domain name industry. Two letter country code domain extensions, originally created simply to identify places on the internet, are acquiring entirely new meanings because their letters happen to correspond with some of the most important technological developments of our time.
Anguilla had .AI.
Slovenia now has .SI.
Could Sint Maarten eventually have .SX?
That is the bet being quietly prepared for at Sint Maarten based domain registrar AnyKey.sx.
From Anguilla to Artificial Intelligence
Few could have predicted what would happen to Anguilla’s country code domain when artificial intelligence exploded into the mainstream.
The letters AI, once primarily an internet identifier for the small Caribbean island, suddenly became two of the most valuable letters in technology.
Startups, software developers, investors and established technology companies began registering .AI domains to associate themselves with artificial intelligence.
The results have been extraordinary.
By October 2025, more than 908,000 .AI domains had already been registered, with the extension on course to cross one million registrations. Anguilla reportedly generated approximately US$85.3 million from .AI registrations during 2025 alone.
For a small Caribbean territory, the lesson could hardly be clearer: a country’s digital identity can unexpectedly become a globally valuable economic asset.
Then came SI.
The Extraordinary Rise of .SI
In recent weeks, the domain industry has witnessed another remarkable example.
The country code .SI belongs to Slovenia, but the initials have suddenly acquired another technological interpretation: Super Intelligence.
Following the growing use of the term “SI” for super intelligence, registrations exploded.
Reports indicate that approximately 44,000 new .SI domains were registered during September 2026, more than 20 times the previous month’s total. On September 30 alone, some 11,000 registrations were recorded. Slovenia’s official registry has acknowledged the extraordinary increase and is now publishing updated statistics tracking the phenomenon.
Euronews reported that registrations accelerated from roughly 3,500 per month to around 3,700 per day during the initial surge.
The pattern is difficult to ignore.
AI = Artificial Intelligence = .AI
SI = Super Intelligence = .SI
And there is another two letter combination sitting quietly in the Caribbean:
SX = Space eXploration = .SX
Enter Space eXploration

This is where Sint Maarten potentially enters the story.
The official internet country code for Sint Maarten is .SX.
For years, .SX has primarily represented Sint Maarten online. But just as AI acquired a meaning far larger than Anguilla and SI is acquiring a meaning beyond Slovenia, SX has the potential to represent something much larger than its geographic origin.
Space eXploration.
And the timing is becoming increasingly interesting.
SpaceX completed its historic initial public offering in June 2026. The company priced its shares at $135 and ultimately raised approximately $85.7 billion in net proceeds, according to its SEC filing.
At the same time, SpaceX continues developing Starship through the iterative process that has characterized Elon Musk’s companies: build, test, fail, learn, redesign and try again.
SpaceX’s official launch history shows Starship Flight 14 taking place as recently as September 28, 2026.
What once looked like science fiction is increasingly becoming an industrial ecosystem.
And that ecosystem will need companies.
Thousands of them.
A $1.8 Trillion Space Economy
The opportunity extends far beyond companies actually building rockets.
Research by the World Economic Forum and McKinsey & Company estimates that the global space economy could grow from approximately $630 billion in 2023 to $1.8 trillion by 2035.
That economy encompasses satellites, communications, navigation, Earth observation, transportation, data, defence, logistics and numerous industries that will use space based technologies without necessarily considering themselves “space companies.”
The World Economic Forum estimates that more than 60 percent of the growth could ultimately be driven by industries including transportation and supply chains, food and beverage, defence, retail and consumer goods, and digital communications.
In other words, the commercialization of space may eventually create an entire supporting economy in much the same way that the internet created businesses nobody could have imagined during its early development.
Those businesses will need names.
They will need brands.
And they will need domains.

AnyKey.sx Has Been Quietly Preparing
That brings the story back home to Sint Maarten.
Over the past several months, AnyKey.sx has been quietly working behind the scenes on its own technological infrastructure.
The Sint Maarten based company has developed a completely redesigned client facing website, supported by a new backend environment and stronger integrations intended to improve the registration, administration and DNS management of .SX domain names.
That work has now culminated in the launch of the new AnyKey.sx website.
The site allows customers to search for and register .SX domain names while also providing complementary internet services including web hosting, WordPress hosting, VPS solutions, dedicated servers and SSL certificates. AnyKey SX
On the surface, it is a website upgrade.
Strategically, however, it represents something much bigger.
It means AnyKey.sx is building the infrastructure necessary to accommodate businesses looking for an identity within a future SX economy.
What If .SX Became the Domain of Space eXploration?
Imagine the possibilities.
Space technology companies. Satellite operators. Mars technology startups. Space tourism companies. Aerospace engineers. Robotics developers. Space communications companies. Lunar logistics businesses. Space research organizations. Investors. Universities. Media companies covering space.
The list could become enormous.
Not every company participating in the future space economy will build rockets. Just as millions of businesses built around the internet without becoming telecommunications companies, countless businesses could eventually emerge around the infrastructure being created for space.
For some of those businesses, .SX could offer an unusually short and memorable digital identity.
A company involved in space robotics could operate on a .SX address.
A Mars technology startup could use .SX.
A satellite business could use .SX.
A Space eXploration news platform could use .SX.
That does not mean .SX will automatically experience the extraordinary growth enjoyed by .AI or the sudden surge now occurring with .SI. Domain trends are unpredictable, and widespread adoption ultimately depends upon entrepreneurs, companies and investors choosing to associate those letters with a particular industry.
But the precedent is now impossible to dismiss.
Nobody created Anguilla’s country code with artificial intelligence in mind.
Nobody created Slovenia’s country code for super intelligence.
And Sint Maarten’s .SX was certainly not created for Space eXploration.
Sometimes technology gives old letters entirely new meanings.
Three Small Places, Three Enormous Ideas
There is something particularly fascinating about the geography of this emerging domain story.
A tiny Caribbean island possesses .AI.
A small European nation possesses .SI.
And a small Caribbean country possesses .SX.
Artificial Intelligence.
Super Intelligence.
Space eXploration.
Three of the concepts that could help define the technological future of humanity happen to correspond almost perfectly with the internet identities of three relatively small jurisdictions.
Anguilla has already demonstrated what can happen when such an alignment becomes commercially significant.
Slovenia may now be experiencing its own version.
Sint Maarten should be paying attention.
Because in a global digital economy, size does not necessarily determine opportunity.
Sometimes two letters are enough.
Ready for SX
The newly launched AnyKey.sx platform therefore arrives at an interesting moment.
It is not simply about selling Sint Maarten domain names.
It is about positioning .SX as a potential digital identity for a new generation of businesses entering one of the world’s fastest developing industries.
The rockets are being built.
Capital is pouring into the industry.
The infrastructure is developing.
The global space economy is moving toward the trillion dollar scale.
And here in Sint Maarten, quietly and without rockets or billion dollar launch pads, another small piece of that potential ecosystem is being prepared.
.SX.
Sint Maarten.
Space eXploration.
Perhaps all that remains now is the ultimate marketing breakthrough:
Elon Musk putting ANYKEY.SX on the side of Starship.
Now that would really launch .SX into orbit.
Any idea. Any vision. AnyKey.
