Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask the professionals direct questions about Diabetes and ways to reduce risks of getting the disease”, stated Sherrylle Horsford, President of the Rotary Club of Sint Maarten. Ms Horsford added, “We are thankful for our partnership with NAGICO. Nagico’s role as our Platinum sponsor truly makes this event possible, and for that we are grateful”.
Dr. Nelleke “Nel” Geelhoed-Duijvestein, a visiting Endocrinologist from the Netherlands who specializes in Diabetes care said, “Diabetes is an increasing problem in the Caribbean and is living up to its name as the silent killer, so we need to do all we can to create awareness, to help prevent, treat and advise families how to take care of loved one suffering from Diabetes.”
“As medical insurance providers, we see first-hand how dangerous Diabetes can be, not only in the way this illness attacks the body, but also the additional illnesses it can cause as a ripple effect and at Nagico, we believe that education is one of the best ways to encourage healthy living. It is our pleasure to support the Rotary Club of Sint Maarten and the Windward Island Medical Association with this year’s initiative for the 4th year in a row”, said Christopher Hunte, Executive Head – Medical Division NAGICO Group of Companies.
