BREAKING NEWS – Ambulance captured on camera after fire damage on its way to an emergency call in Ebenezer this morning. Judging from the photo, the ambulance has incurred extensive fire and smoke damage as a result of an apparent engine fire and can be considered a total loss. A neighbor confirmed that this took place in the street next to the Academy’s P.S.V.E. school in Ebenezer.

In an invited statement from the head of the Ambulance Department, Mr. Cylred Richardson stated that they are presently busy making a report on the fire incident with their ambulance. Richardson told our TODAY ONLINE NEWSPAPER editor that on exiting the ambulance when smoke was noticed emanating from the engine, a security guard informed the driver that the engine was on fire. The driver them contacted Central Dispatch and informed them of the situation. The fire department was immediately contacted and a fire truck was sent to the area. Another ambulance was immediately dispatched as well to follow up on the emergency case in Ebenezer.

“It was a bit of a shock for us in the department,” said Richardson. “It could have been worst and are thankful that no one was hurt.”

An official report will be provided once the investigation is completed stated the Ambulance Department Head, Mr. Cylred A. Richardson.

As can be seen indeed, huge smoke is billowing from a house located in the shanty town area opposite Kooyman in Cay Hill – and not opposite Cake House Supermarket in Cul-de-Sac as reported earlier. This district is however accessible via the well-known Cake House Road, starting from where Cake House Supermarket used to be located in Cay Hill on the A.C. Brouwers Road.

It is reported that several people have been rendered homeless due to this fire.
