GREE HOME Presents New Line of Household Appliances under brandname MIDEA
PHILIPSBURG – You may agree that GREE is a well-known brand name in St. Maarten when it comes to air conditioning units. However, what you may not know is that GREE HOME now has a new line of household appliances that are being marketed under the brand name MIDEA.
GREE has a new store in Philipsburg that opened in February this year and is doing business under the name GREE HOME. The retail store not only carries the complete line of GREE AC products, accessories and supplies, but also the new line of MIDEA house appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers and fans. MIDEA is a new quality brand of household products from China.
Manager and Co-Owner, Khalil Elaswad (26) of GREE HOME, who was born and raised in St. Maarten and comes from a well-known St. Maarten family with a background in airco unit installation and servicing, tells us that he has a background in Mechanical Engineering after studying in St. Maarten, Dubai and Australia. As a young entrepreneur, Khalil now wishes to expand his family business with his own retail store in town. “Customers won’t have to go all the way over the hill just to buy air conditioning products anymore.” says Khalil.
GREE HOME is not only targeting the local market with their AC and Home Appliances products, but also the surrounding islands of Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Kitts & Nevis, Anguilla and St. Barths. “I dare not advertise FREE DELIVERY even though we do provide free delivery service on St. Maarten,” says Khalil. “Because then my customers on the other islands will want us to deliver for free to their island as well.”
“As there are no proper ferry service to the surrounding islands, except to Saba, St. Barths and Anguilla, shipping products to the surrounding islands can be very expensive.” explains Khalil. “However, I do expect the new line of MIDEA house appliances to sell well to these islands despite the relatively high shipping costs.”
