The other side of the story

It was a rather weird day in court on Wednesday when Brenda Brooks, an attorney I have known since she started working in St. Maarten in 2009, was sitting in the chair of the accused, rather than next to the accused to do what she does best.
Brooks court performances were – and are – always interesting. She is, as one of the character witnesses described her, indeed passionate – a true firebrand who never minces her words when it comes to defending her clients.
The case against Brooks is rather odd.
