Anguilla Showcases Luxury Tourism Offerings to Latin American Travel Advisors
From our correspondent
Caribbean News – October 30 2026 — Anguilla has strengthened its outreach to the Latin American luxury tourism market after securing sponsorship of the opening general session at Virtuoso On Tour Latin America for the first time. The October 27–29 event provided the Anguilla Tourist Board with an opportunity to introduce the destination’s high-end tourism experiences to an audience of more than 300 travel professionals.
The initiative forms part of the Board’s wider strategy to broaden Anguilla’s international visitor markets and increase its profile among luxury travel advisors across Latin America. The potential of the sector was underscored by figures from the 2025 Bain-Altagamma luxury study presented during the event, which estimated that travel-related activities represented approximately US$324 billion of the global luxury market, valued at around US$1.6 trillion. Luxury hospitality alone accounted for an estimated US$280 billion.
Deputy Director of Tourism Chantelle Richardson led the destination presentation, drawing attention to Anguilla’s 33 white-sand beaches, upscale accommodation, renowned food offerings and welcoming atmosphere. She also highlighted the island’s appeal to couples and families seeking personalised service, memorable dining experiences and a more relaxed expression of luxury. Richardson described the presentation as an important step in positioning Anguilla within the international luxury travel sector and connecting with professionals who serve Latin American travellers.
Richardson said the Tourist Board intended to build on the relationships established through the event by developing long-term industry partnerships and generating business opportunities for tourism stakeholders and the wider Anguillian community. She noted that the island’s appeal extended from casual beachfront dining to sunset meals, with an emphasis on intimate experiences and personal hospitality that could leave visitors with lasting memories.
The opening presentation was followed by nearly 50 one-on-one appointments with advisors and agencies serving luxury travelers. The meetings provided opportunities to discuss Anguilla’s accommodation partners, curated itineraries and wider tourism experiences, helping advisors match the island’s offerings with their clients’ interests.
