Roseau, Dominica – November 05 2026 – Grenada’s Minister for Tourism, the Creative Economy and Culture, Senator Adrian Thomas, has commended Antigua and Barbuda for what he called an outstanding cultural showcase at the opening ceremony of CHOGM 2026. In a message congratulating the government and people of Antigua and Barbuda, Thomas praised the young performers who took to the stage at the National Arts and Performance Cultural Centre, describing their presentation as a demonstration of Caribbean creativity, artistic skill and national pride.
Thomas said the production’s quality was evident in its choreography, music, costumes, lighting and stage management, with the smooth coordination of each element reflecting careful planning and professional execution. He also highlighted the discipline and talent of the musicians, dancers, singers and actors, saying their performances conveyed a strong connection to the region’s history and cultural heritage. The minister further recognized the musical conductor and the behind-the-scenes teams, including producers, artistic directors, designers and technical personnel, whose combined efforts contributed to the event’s success.
The Grenadian minister also praised Antigua and Barbuda’s newly established cultural performance centre, describing it as a significant investment in the creative sector and a valuable space for nurturing artistic talent. Thomas said the production reinforced the Caribbean’s standing as a region rich in cultural traditions and capable of delivering performances that meet international standards. He noted that the region should be recognized not only for its tourism appeal, but also for its creativity and artistic achievements.
