PHILIPSBURG – The Court in First Instance sentenced Leando Aslem Prince on Wednesday morning to 10 months of imprisonment for the possession of a firearm and ammunition. Police officers caught the 26-year old defendant in November of last year near the Crystal Club on Soualiga Boulevard when he ran into an alley next to the club, briefly bent down and ran away.

The probation office describes Quimarni Dereushay Adonis Brown as a quiet boy who can explode when he perceives injustice. Hence the court’s decision to send the boy to anger management training. PHILIPSBURG – The trial against a 59-year old Scotsman for the possession of child porn and for sexual assault on several minors was postponed on Wednesday until May 30. Colin K., who misses the bottom part of his left leg, appeared on crutches in the courtroom. He is currently detained at the Pointe Blanche prison.
PHILIPSBURG – The Court in First Instance sentenced Reinier Chun-Bon Cheung on Wednesday morning to 36 months of imprisonment, with 18 months suspended and 3 years of probation for the possession of a small weapons arsenal and 747 gram of marijuana. The court acquitted Cheung of theft and fencing a car that belonged to real auto and that was found on his property near the family’s Cake House supermarket on the L.B. Scott Road.
PHILIPSBURG — On Wednesday March 21st, 21 students from the Prince Willem Alexander School visited the Police Head Quarters in Philipsburg. At the police station they were greeted by the Community Police Officers/Inspectors Rensley Henson, Helen Romeo and Arcella Leonard. The children who were very enthusiastic asked many question as they were given a grand tour of the police station and an explanation on what the police do on a daily basis. PHILIPSBURG — Detectives are presently investigating a shooting incident which took place on Wednesday shortly before 07.00 a.m. in front of Fu Yung Supermarket located on Middle Region road close to Romeo’s drive. The first of several calls came in to the Emergency Dispatch stating that an argument had taken place between two men which escalated into a fight.
