SABA/PHILIPBURG — In January of 2018 the school board of the Sacred Heart Primary School in Saba determined that raising the bar in teaching standards and investing in their teacher’s professional development was an ongoing priority.  Unanimously the board voted to implement the Teachers of Promise (T.O.P.) Program. PHILIPSBURG – The Court in First Instance handled the cases of four suspects in the Emerald-investigation on Tuesday and the demands from the prosecution against all four were identical to those issued in February against two other suspects: 15 months of imprisonment and a conditional fine of 250,000 guilders, combined with 3 years of probation. By Hilbert Haar PHILIPSBURG – Hurricane Irma put the Rainforest Adventure Park to the test in September of last year but the project withstood the monster storm perfectly even though the wind speeds at the top of Sentry Hill must have been out of this world. PHILIPSBURG – Gerardo Antonio O.V. walked out of the courtroom a free man on Wednesday morning after his attorney Geert Hatzmann successfully defended him against accusations of looting in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma in September of last year. The public  prosecutor demanded a 4-month prison sentence, 2 years of probation and 120 hours of community service, but the court acquitted the defendant.
