GREAT BAY – The unit human trafficking and human smuggling of the police force arrested Hypnotic brothel manager J.P. on Monday evening after they found 27 women working at the place without valid papers. The 41-year-old manager was earlier arrested as a suspect in the Papegaai (Parrot)-investigation into human trafficking at the Casablanca brothel.
P. will be brought before the Judge of Instruction today where the prosecutor’s office will ask to terminate the suspension of her detention in the Parrot-investigation.
The human trafficking and human smuggling unit entered the brothel around 8 p.m. on Monday evening, based on the suspicion that several women were working there without valid papers. The Royal Marechaussee assisted the unit during this action.
27 Prostitutes face expulsion
The officers found 27 women without valid residence papers who were working in the brothel. A public prosecutor was called to the scene.
The prostitutes are from countries like Venezuela, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. They have been placed under the supervision of the immigration service pending an expulsion procedure.
The Court in First Instance declared Hypnotic and its associated JMC Investments bankrupt on October 3, but the trustee allowed the company to continue operations to generate revenue for its creditors.
