USP town hall meetings start in St. Peters Tuesday

Philipsburg — The United St. Maarten (US) party will host the first of many town hall meetings for the 2018 campaign on Tuesday, January 23. The meeting will be held at the Rupert Maynard Community Center in St. Peters from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Leader of the US party, MP Frans Richardson, said although the party is still very young, but going into its third campaign, the principle of going to the people remains the same. He said the meetings will give all US party candidates the opportunity to engage with the people and share their ideas for the recovery of St. Maarten.

“While in government we have delivered on our promise to always go to the people and keep the people informed. Information from the Ministries we were responsible for kept flowing constantly. We have a dynamic, young list of creative thinkers mixed with experienced persons. We are inviting the good people of St. Peters to come out and speak with us in an intimate setting,” Richardson said.

The US party has several of the town hall meetings scheduled in other districts as well as a few, regular campaign public meetings.
