GREAT BAY – November 14 marked World Diabetes Day (WDD) and the Collective Prevention Services (CPS), a department of the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour, along with the Diabetes Foundation of St. Maarten, commemorated WDD in collaboration with at least four pharmacies namely, Philipsburg Pharmacy, Simpson Bay Pharmacy, St. Peters Pharmacy and Bush road Pharmacy. Philipsburg – Foresee Foundation and the ArtsCrafts Café Foundation on Tuesday presented President of Parliament, Sarah Wescot-Williams with the Stories of Irma Through the Eyes of St. Maarten Children. One hundred and eighty-five entries of drawings, stories and poems were received from twelve schools. Philipsburg — Detectives are presently investigating a case of ill-treatment which took place on Monday November 13th at approximately 06.15 p.m. in the vicinity of Lucky star Supermarket located on the A.T. Illidge Road. Police were sent to the scene to investigate what had taken place.  On the scene the investigating officers learnt from the victim that he was beaten by a person he does not know. Philipsburg — Three hundred and sixty eight families in St. Maarten benefited from a relief exercise hosted by the St. Maarten Tzu Chi Foundation on Sunday, November 5. The relief activity, which was held at Tzu Chi’s location on the LB Scott Road, was organized to enable the foundation to continue its relief distribution efforts in the country. A total of 33 Tzu Chi volunteers got together to help ensure that the drive ran smoothly.
