It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Godmother, and Friend, Mrs. Cynthia Lloyd-Rey, affectionately known as Miss Rey or Cynthie.
Born on May 20, 1950, she passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her dedicated husband, Lorenzo “Lou Lou” Lloyd, her children, Atwell Terrance Rey and Leonaris & Angelica Lloyd & family, her granddaughter Tyler Rey, as well as many special daughters, nieces, nephews, godchildren, in-laws, and friends.
Cynthia’s life was one of devotion, warmth, and care. She touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and faith. She was deeply connected to her community, her church family at the SS Simon and Jude Anglican Church in Philipsburg, and many close friends who cherished her.
A Night of Tributes was held on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, at the Aleeze Event Hall in Madame Estate, honoring her memory in a way she preferred—without the traditional formality of a wake.
Her Service of Celebration took place on Friday, July 26th, 2024, at the Anglican Church in Philipsburg, followed by burial at the Cul-De-Sac Cemetery. Though not mandatory, attendees were encouraged to honor her by wearing her favorite color, emerald green.
She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her strength, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy of faith, family, and friendship will live on in all who knew her.
Special thanks are extended to the doctors and nurses of the Sint Maarten Medical Center, the Care Complex, the Royal Funeral Home & Crematorium, and the Ministry of VROMI for their care and support.
“May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire love and unity among us all.”
